Huge RE:Writes Back-to-School Review and Giveaway!

My kids are obsessed with dry erase boards. Miss E. even has one that she carries around the house to write notes on, play school, make lists, etc.  This year when we went back-to-school shopping she ended up poaching the dry erase markers that were intended as a classroom donation....

It’s Academic has a great new product - just in time for back to school! Introducing RE:writes dry erase notes.  As soon as I found out about RE:writes I thought of Miss E. :)

This product is new and innovative – it’s as flexible as a sticky note, as reusable as a dry erase board but combines the best properties of both!

These notes will grip, hold and peel right off – using no adhesive and leaving no residue. The new RE:writes are now available in stores like Wal*Mart and Walgreens, RiteAid, Meijer and OfficeMax (staring at just $5.99)

I was asked to review Re:writes.  Here are a few shots I took using the same note in sequential order:

On a wood hutch (fine furniture)

On the wine cooler (reflection of Kitchen in background)

On the kitchen cabinets

My review:
These were extremely easy to use.  The dry-erase notes have a tacky-rubberized backing that very easily sticks to most solid surfaces.
  • Easy to use
  • Can be used for multiple purposes
  • Green - resuseable over and over again!
  • From my experience it did  not leave residue or strip surfaces
  • Simple to quickly erase and re-write notes
  • Appropriate to use at work, at school or at home
  • Fun for kids (Parents should supervise young children as there are small pieces and marker pen)
I did find that I had to press more firmly on some surfaces than others to get the RE:writes to stick.  For example, it stuck very easily to glass surfaces such as the microwave, wine cabinet or mirror.  It also adhered easily to the wood surfaces but I did need to apply a little bit more pressure to get it to attach compared to the glass.  The RE:writes did not stick as well to drywall but the results varied depending on the type of paint (flat, eggshell, satin or gloss).

After a few erases using the felt pen top, the felt eraser was covered in ink.  Due to this the RE:writes note slightly smudged when I again erased which you can see in the picture.  I found that taking a separate clean dry cloth removed most of this smudging.

The Re:writes can be used for SO many purposes and in so many places....
  • Post morning reminders next to your house keys to take medication or grab something to bring with you to school or work.
  • On the bathroom mirror leave notes for other members in your family with simple reminders or sweet sentiments (just because!).
  • On the front door post a message to neighbors, the postman/postwoman or UPS/FedEx delivery person.
  •  Leave instructions for babysitters or house guests in the guest room or in the guest bath.
  • On the larger notes write appointment reminders or instructions for dinner and post on the fridge.
  • Share a joke to brighten someone's day
  • Want to make a donation to your child's classroom?  These are perfect!

OK - this is HUGE. I was provided with the opportunity to give away a MEGA It’s Academic School Supplies Pack to one of my readers (valued at $250) .  The prize is similar to the one pictured above.  Jealous!  This is such a fabulous prize.  To enter simply read the rules and complete the mandatory entries on the Rafflecopter form below.  Extra Entries are available for following RE:writes and momanthology.com on Twitter, Facebook and Pinterest. Good Luck to All :)

I like to leave notes of encouragement around the house for my family (drawings for my boys since they can't read yet), but the sticky notes always fall off. This would be great!
