Individual Card
When I was vacationing in Bellingham, WA this summer, I went to a demonstration at Stampadoodle. Demos are held weekly on Wednesdays and the one I attended was on using up your scrap paper. I wish I took down the instructor's name so I could give credit.
Basically she showed us how to make card holders from card stock, scraps and embellishments. I absolutely loved this idea and think it makes a fantastic gift. I will probably do a post where I show where the actual card holder is made - it looks complicated but is very, very easy to make.
When I got home I knew that I was going to make a few of these. This is the first one I have completed. I also actually made the card holder but added matching cards.
Materials used:
- Grey Core'dinations cardstock
- Various scrapbooking papers in aqua, orange, brown and white prints
- Die cut image
- Marbled card stock
- Corner punches
- Floral, circle and scalloped circle punches
- Washi tape
- Rhinestones
- Embroidery thread
- Buttons
- Rhinestones
- Dazzles 3-d silver stickers
- Glue dots and glue stick were primarily used for adhesive, with the exception of the card holder, for which double-sided tape was used

Challenges:
I am entering this project in the Piggy Back Card sketch challenge at http://unscriptedsketches.com/ (#172) With the exception of the green, I hit all the colors and the sketch is similar to the lines and layout used in the card. but..... the green is actually on the card holder so I guess it made it in there :)
http://www.totallygorjuss.blogspot.com/ has a project this week that incorporates using string. I'm in!
I am also entering the one card (not entire project) in the "Less is More" Challenge at http://simplylessismoore.blogspot.com/. Even though there are a few embellishments, the design is clean with simple lines and elements.
And finally, on recommendation (thanks Alicia!) I am entering at the Play Date Cafe http://theplaydatecafe.blogspot.com/ for challenge PDCC 145.
Feel free to share your projects :)

What a beautiful set, the colors are gorgeous! Thanks for bringing your art to Unscripted Sketches this week, you have inspired me! - you may want to post this at the current challenge over at The Play Date Cafe, believe these colors may be a perfect fit for their challenge. :)
What a great gift set! Thanks for playing at The Play Date Cafe.
What a lovely little card set ... so glad you joined us at Unscripted Sketches.
Wow! Lucky, lucky person that gets this sweet gift set! I adore the colors you used. It doesn't matter one little bit if one, all or none of the challenge colors are in your cards - piggybacks are optional! Besides, the cards look fabulous just the way they are! Thanks for sharing them with us at Unscripted Sketches :)
wonderful card set! Thanks for joining us at The Play Date Cafe!

I'm so sorry that I'm late in visiting this week, but I have been on a wonderful cruise to Norway where I didn't have very good Internet coverage!
I'm not sure which are the torn elements but thanks so much for your lovely contribution!
