Le Cirque Mini-album

Cover Page - Trimmed in Ribbon and accented with glitter glue.
I still need to work on perfecting the art of applying Stickles.

I have an obsession with Graphic 45 papers.  I love the vintage images in a huge variety of themes and tend to purchase older and/or retired lines at Tuesday Morning where they are sold in bulk packs of paper for $3.99 each - a total steal!  If I cannot wait on the newer lines to be discounted though, I will purchase immediately....Secret Garden for example.

One of my favorite retired lines is Le Cirque.  I have had SO much fun with this paper.  Below is a mini-album that I made using a Pink Paislee board cover, 4 different sheets of  Le Cirque Graphic 45 paper, personal photos, polka dot washi tape, circus stamps, white cardstock, kraft paper and simple embellishments.

3 Ring Circus - come on see the show!

Stamped and colored image of female
acrobat / trapeeze artist  is actually raised for dimension and "swinging" from hemp twine.
I just realized it looks like she is about to kick the little clown in the face......
Ooops!  She should be more careful!

"Ring" in Circus letters colored with distress inks and enhanced with glossy accents
The pictures below are not as crisp as I would like but that did not stop me from sharing.  I plan to purchase some reinforcers for the rings and add journaling, but other than that, this album is complete!

Fabric name tags (left page - not shown) and theme (right)

Fun "Daring and Death Defying" page to serve as a reminder
lest you forget what the circus is all about!

Group picture -with circus themed stamp border on left.

Black and White with color highlights.  Left page blank to add journaling.
The picture was converted to black and white from color and the noses were shaded red with an online editing tool

Back cover.  A little blurry (sorry!)

Here is an example of a card I made out of the same paper and die cuts.  This was layered over blue, plaid and orange glitter cardstock, decorated with a die cut, metal brad and trimmed with tulle ribbon and hemp twine.  The envelope is handmade out of an 8x8 page of paper

I have some other card projects that I am looking forward to sharing.  Feel free to share links to your own projects!

Entering in the Just Girls Challenge:  http://justusgirlschallenge.blogspot.com/
Ends Thursday

Pictures edited 06/11 - I was able to get a clearer picture for a few of the photos.

Disney Music Store gift cards

One of the challenges with younger children is finding age appropriate music.  The Disney Music Store is a great option - it is a one stop shop with thousands of current and classic hits to chose from.

Want to give the gift of music?  Disney music gift cards make music shopping simple and are perfect for graduation, birthdays and other special occasions. You can purchase the cards in face values of $15 or $25 and alternatively, in custom variable amounts.  The cards are available at Wal-Mart and grocery retailers everywhere -  cards are activated upon purchase. From there, users may go to the Disney digital music store, enter a code and shop for instant downloads from a menu of over 12,000 tracks.

The catalog of music available at the Disney digital music store includes current hit artists (Selena Gomez, Bridgit Mendler, and Demi Lovato), Disney Channel series and original movie soundtracks (Shake It Up, Austin & Ally, Let It Shine), film soundtracks (Brave, The Muppets, TRON: Legacy), inspired-by compilations (Frankenweenie Unleashed!, Muppets: The Green Album, Almost Alice) plus classic soundtracks (Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, The Little Mermaid), Disney Junior soundtracks (Sofia the First, Jake and the Never Land Pirates), Disney Princess and Fairies compilations, Radio Disney favorites, Spanish language, Songs & Story, and many more.

No other music/entertainment brand offers such a vast array of top quality family-friendly musical entertainment that parents can trust and feel safe about their kids interacting with.  This would make a great gift for a school aged child.  They can select songs that from films and shows that they love or simply favorite songs and enjoy over and over again.

Warehouse Sales for scrapbookers and papercrafters!

SCRAPBOOKING WAREHOUSE SALE!

A scrapbooking warehouse sale is when companies offer excess stock from older lines, making it available to customers at deeply discounted prices. Sometimes these sales are at the physical location of the warehouse (which stinks if you are not local to the area or in a reasonable distance for a road trip).  Other times though the companies will box up product and make it available to all customers, near and far. The boxes are only available for a limited time - once the last box is sold, there will not be any more available.

Some companies offer warehouse sales 2x a year and others 1x a year or less. It is a great way to get hundreds of dollars worth of product for around $25 - $60. For customers outside the country of origin, shipping rates can be quite pricey, so it is best to weigh the savings versus the shipping costs before making a final decision.  Some of the boxes are identical and other companies may have a set number of versions OR each box may be different.

I missed a couple sales last year so decided to follow all of my favorite papercrafting companies on facebook. you can see my list HERE  this list should be available for public viewing.   In order to keep track of all of these fabulous sales I simply check my facebook list and favorite blogs 1 - 2x per week. Searching on Google is also another great way to find out about new sales.

So far I have received orders from three warehouse sales - one from Maya Road Fall/Winter 2012 AND Maya Road Spring/Summer 2013 a these were filled to the brim with chipboard goodies and fabric embellishments.  II found that there were some duplicate items in the Maya Road boxes from the two back to back sales, so I may wait through the next sale and hit the one in Spring / Summer 2014.   I also ordered a box from Webster's Pages Fall/Winter 2012 - this one was loaded with paper and embellishments.

GOING ON NOW:
Yesterday I ordered from Pink Paislee Spring/Summer 2013 (THIS IS STILL GOING ON NOW - IF INTERESTED HURRY!!).  In the next week or two Webster's pages is having another sale so I am definitely ordering from them too as I loved the first box SO much.  My birthday present to myself!!!!

When I see a sale I will visit youtube to see if there are any videos from what was offered the year prior for a paticular company.  If I like what I see, I am more inclined to order.   If the style or type of products offered is not my preference, I will decide to wait for another one.

I will try to keep listing new sales.  This is a great way to buy products from upscale papercrafting lines.   If you like variety and surprises you will love feeding your scrapbooking and shopping additions with these boxes while saving some money in the long run!
