We have been in our "new" house for less than 2 years. The house was about 6 years old when we purchased it. Since we have resided here, our Central heating and air has gone out 4 times. 1 time it needed to be reset (upstairs). The other two times were costly repairs - we have two units and both have been worked on at one time or another.
The AC is again not working downstairs but the entire house is hot. Thankfully we have a home warranty. It is $500 a year and so far has been worth every dime! 100 degree temps this week - NOT the best time for the AC to stop running. We are dying and the service man cannot come out until Thursday.
Of course the last thing I wanted to do tonight was cook. We ended up going out to Moe's. We had a coupon for BYGO on the homewrecker. Miss N. and I got the daily special. It ended up being less than $25 for the 5 of us, so not too bad.
What did people do before A/C?
